Subject: file s7-16-98 Author: Tom Faughnan Date: 8/12/98 2:36 PM For what it is worth. While I think the SEC position and the AICPA position on how one defines "negligence" are relatively at par, I do believe that the AICPA position is cleaner to administer and less subject to opinion, personality and interpretation. It seems the clearer you can make standards the enforcement of the standards is cleaner and understandable to each party. Therefore I support the opinion of the AICPA in this instance and would like to SEC to reconsider its current stance. For what its worth. Tom
