Subject: Runaway CEO Pay Date: 4/25/97 10:47 PM I am writing as a constituent who is deeply concerned about the growing problem of ruanway executive pay and the need to control the excessive and outrageously unfair compensation awarded to America's CEOs. Depite past efforts to limit the tax deductibility of executive compensation, the value of CEO pay packages continues to skyrocket -- often at the expense of working families and our jobs, income and future security. Runaway executive pay should not be tolerated, and certainly not be subsidized by America's taxpayers. That's why I believe that efforts such as the Income Equity Act (introduced in the House of Representatives by Congressman Martin Olav Sabo) are a step in the right direction. This bill would limit the deductibility of executive compensation and provide an incentive for corporations to close the income gap between top executives and their employees. I urge you to support efforts such as the Income Equity Act. Please let me know where you stand on this issue. Debbi Reed 8137 N Streamside Tucson AZ 85741
