Date: 09/18/2000 2:04 PM Subject: q35 &q36 Concerning this: Q35. Should we consider extending short sale regulation to cover non-exchange listed securities? Q36. If so, how should the new regulation restrict short sales? Does the current NASD short sale rule provide an applicable model for this purpose? PLEASE, consider at the very LEAST, requiring market makers to report their short positions. OTC stocks trading millions of shares per day, with no accountability by the MM's, should NOT be allowed to continue. Thank you, Donald B Mercer
