Subject: Petition for Rulemaking (SEC File No. 4-461)

I am writing in support of the petition 4-461.

Of necessity, most of the money that I am saving for retirement is 
invested in the stock of public corporations subject to SEC rules. It is 
important to me to be able to effectively contribute to the oversight of 
those corporations in which I have invested. The current system of 
electing directors is inadequate. I view this petition as a significant 
step towards bringing true shareholder democracy to the oversight of 
corporations.
