          SEC EDGAR System Certified Y2K Compliant
                              
     Washington, DC, August 2, 1999 -- Today the Commission
announced that its EDGAR (Electronic Data Gathering Analysis
and Retrieval) system is Year 2000 compliant.  After
extensive testing, the EDGAR system has been found to be
fully compliant with requirements for dealing with documents
dated after the turn of this century.
