Internet Certificates for EDGAR Filers
Filer certificates are optional for Internet filing.
Filers wishing to use client side certificates (outlined in Section 2 of the EDGAR Filer Manual Release 7.0 Volume II – Modernized EDGARLink) on their own machines for transmitting filings to the SEC over the Internet are required to do the following:
1. Submit a letter on company letterhead requesting a certificate.
2. Include the company CIK that will be using the certificate.
3. Include the company name that corresponds to the CIK.
4. Include a contact point and return address for the certificate.
A return letter will arrive from the SEC that includes a passcode. The passcode will be used to allow Verisign, Inc. to issue the certificate.
