Internet Certificates for EDGAR Filers

Filer certificates are optional for Internet filing.

Filers wishing to use client side certificates (outlined in Section 2 of the EDGAR Filer Manual Release 7.0 Volume II Modernized EDGARLink) on their own machines for transmitting filings to the SEC over the Internet are required to do the following:

   1. Submit a letter on company letterhead requesting a certificate.

   2. Include the company CIK that will be using the certificate.

   3. Include the company name that corresponds to the CIK.

   4. Include a contact point and return address for the certificate.

A return letter will arrive from the SEC that includes a passcode. The passcode will be used to allow Verisign, Inc. to issue the certificate.
