On July 14, 2009, the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board filed proposed rule changes with the Securities and Exchange Commission. August 12 is the current deadline for comment on these suggested changes.
The Virginia Government Finance Officers Association has just, today, become aware of these proposed changes. Members of our executive Board feel these are important rule changes and would like to make comment but have not yet had the opportunity to develop a response. We respectfully request an extension to the end of this week (Friday August 14th) to prepare and submit a response to the proposed change.
