I am the managing partner of the six lawyer law firm of David P. Meyer Associates Co. LPA, a firm devoted primarily to the representation of public investors in securities arbitration claims against the brokerage and financial services industry.
Having represented over 800 investors in disputes against their brokerage firms, I am a strong supporter of the proposed rule change eliminating the mandatory industry arbitrator from panels involving customer disputes.
This rule change will significantly improve the arbitration process and provide public customers with the fundamental fairness that every investor should be entitled to when they are required to pursue their claims through a mandatory arbitration process.
I urge the Commission to approve the proposed rule change on an expedited basis.
