There should be a restriction that a mini-options can not be settled by using a portion of a stnadard option. For instance, a holding of a standard option contract which equals 100 shares can not be split to allow a position of a mini-option representing 10 shares, thereby causing the holder of the standard option to hold 9/10's of a standard option. Also, the Option Symbol should be distict and contain a easily method of identification to differentiate the two classes of options. A person working the market attempting to establish a position in a hurry in a rapidly changing market must have adequate references so that an inadvertant mistake will be minimized.
