The City of Vassar is strongly opposed to this proposed regulation. It is very difficult in smaller communities to recruit volunteers to serve on various boards. If these people are now subject to additional requirements such as registering with the SEC it will only hinder the process of local government.
Please consider this when reviewing this proposal. Vassar is a community of approximately 2,800 people. On our EDC and DDA boards we are lucky to get enough members for a quorum, know this will completely eliminate any volunteers coming forward as they view this as more of a hassle.
