The financial reform bill included language which allows the SEC to require transparency for electronic products to disclose conflict materials used in their production. It is imperative that these regulations be strong and clear. The public has a right to know whether the products we buy are helping to fund violence, rape, and murder in the Congo. The SEC must not succumb to pressure from corporations that would seek to water down the regulations to avoid having to disclose their profiting from, and funding of this death, terror, and destruction.
