Subject: File Number S7-33-10: Whistleblower Award Program

December 6, 2010

Dear Ms. Murphy

I just signed a petition saying:

"More whistleblowing about corporate crimes could have made the foreclosure crisis and economic meltdown less severe. Whistleblowers should never be forced or engouraged to take their concerns to their potentially corrupt bosses first: Those who go directly to the government deserve the strongest rewards and protections allowed by law."

This is a scary bill that doesn't protect the citizens of the USA. This protects big business and fosters a culture of fear and intimidation for moral, conscious employees of businesses who are acting illegally, dangerously and lying to their investors and the public. If this bill is passed it truly is apparent that the governments only interests lye with the interests of big business and a secretive government. We need to foster a culture of transparency and trust in both government and corporate america. Please do not allow this absurd bil to pass. If a business, corporation or industry is operating in a moral and honest way; there would be no whistleblowers. Whistleblowers have been responsible for revealing some of the greatest scandals, crimes and social injustice that this country had ever seen. the simple fact that corporate america and the US government have such an incestuous relationship makes it impossible for our government to act in the best interest of it's constituents. Time and time again the government has only taken legal action because of the brave actions of whistleblowers, reporters and people willing to speak up and question what exactly goes on behind closed doors. If there is nothing to fear than there is no need to pass this legislation. Sincerely, Tobias kramer
