As an investment broker for 20 years it is my opinion that the uptick rule be reinstated.. This rule helps prevent bear raids on stocks and helps the investor. My understanding it was implemented after the crash of 1929 and was repealed in Jan. 2008.( High of market) Billions of dollars are being spent to aid the economy, reinstating the uptick rule costs nothing!! Who does it benefit from its repeal? Everyone in this industry are shocked its still not reinstated. Please do so. I think it will give confidence to the small investor that the SEC is looking out for them.
