NAKED short selling is the problem - not short selling.
Oh, yeah, PUT BACK THE UPTICK RULE!!!
I don't short stocks, but I am aware that the liquidity required for a Market Maker to take my trade requires shorting stock. What unintended consequences are we going to get out of this knee-jerk reaction???
The Brits are no aces when it comes to manipulating markets. Lets enforce the rules that worked for decades (including the Capital Ratios!!!!!!!) instead of coming up with more new rules that the SEC won't enforce.
I don't think your boss is going to make it.
