Rather than further restricting access to hedge funds, they should be opened up to all investors who can demonstrate an understanding of the characteristics and risks involved. This is just as it is now with stocks, mutual funds, options, and commodities. Investors should not have arbitrary restrictions on what financial devices they can use.
