As an investor nearing the ability to meet the current accredited investor status, it is unjust to take away the ability to invest in alternative investment vehicles, especially ones that may carry less risk then other securities. Indexing the criteria to inflation would be the sensible way to address the problem as opposed to a signicant change in the requirements.

The goverment allows its citizens to gamble regardless of their financial capacity to accept the risk of gambling. The government does not need to restrict well off individuals from investing in hedge funds creating yet another barrier for individuals utilize investment vehicles otherwise available to the privledged few.

As somoeone with a masters degree in finance, the assertion that I am not capable of making this decision is another example of the goverment wanting to interfere with the free market system.
