I would like to strongly voice my opposition to make leveraged ETFs prohibitively difficult to invest in. I have been patiently waiting for years for the right time to get in on these leveraged ETFs at a low-risk point. I started buying some just a little in the dip last month, but to see that I might miss out on this opportunity after waiting for so long is quite disheartening. For retail investors this is one of the safest way to get moderate leverage for longer-term investments. There are a million ways for retail investors to loose their shirt. Leveraged ETFs are not even close to the riskiest. Many leveraged ETFs, such as ones that give 2x long leverage to the broad market, are nearly as safe as any other ETF over the long term. Please do not go the way of "accredited investor" rules that are supposed to "protect the little guy" but really end up just saving all the best opportunities for the rich.
