I would like to submit my opinion on the proposed rule changes regarding leveraged funds. I use them quite often to increase my profits in an up market and as a hedge to my portfolio in a down market. I would be very disappointed if they would not be available, or if regulations would be so burdensome that it would be difficult to use them.
I feel that I understand both the benefits and the possible negative consequences in using leveraged funds, and have put in place limits to control my losses if necessary.
I also feel that this is an area that government involvement is not necessary. As citizens, we should be free to choose the investing options that we want to use.
