I believe it is unnecessary for the gov't to assume the responsibility of an individuals assets and where they choose to invest them. As an investor, I am aware of the risks and assume the responsibility for what the outcome is. A child needs to be protected but we are adults and therefore know we can not guarantee the outcome.
