I own several leveraged funds in my portfolio, especially closed end funds (CEFs) for their enhanced returns. I do extensive research on each and follow the recommendations of a couple of paid advisors before I buy any stocks or funds.
I feel I am capable of understanding the risks involved in leveraged funds and make intelligent, risk aware decisions concerning my financial future. Therefore I don't feel it is necessary to have a third party decide if I am capable of making my own financial decisions.
As such, I oppose your proposed rules restricting the availability and purchase of leveraged funds through my Fidelity and Vanguard brokerage accounts.
