I am alarmed by the proposal to regulate who may invest in leveraged funds. I follow the economy and world markets. I monitor my investments almost daily. I have read the prospectuses of these funds and their disclosures and found them to be an accurate representation of the product. I have chosen, based on extensive research, to make leveraged funds a core portion of my portfolio. To have that taken away from me now would be ruinous. But what's worse is the notion that a bureaucrat in Washington D.C. thinks that he or she is smarter than the citizens of this nation and therefore deems him or herself to be a better judge of what investments I should hold or be allowed to participate in. I served this country for almost 30 years. I have fought for freedom in places that don't have it and now I fear that overreach is coming to the U.S.A. Please, just do your job to monitor, regulate and create a level playing field, but do not change the game mid course or arbitrarily exclude some players because you do not believe them smart enough to make their own decisions. We are perfectly capable to decide for ourselves.
