As an individual investor quite skilled in understanding the nuances, benefits and detriments of using leveraged and inverse funds, I feel these above-stated tools are extremely important in protecting gains in the market against the inevitable downturns that we experience from time to time. At this time, my brokerage firm, Vanguard, because of the SEC proposal, has decided not to make these types of funds available, meaning that if I wish to secure this type of funds, I will have to open yet another brokerage account. Please reconsider the SEC proposal to make it much more difficult for a knowledgeable invedstor, with a relatively modest portfolio, to continue to buy these funds without the added burden of intrusive, albeit well-meaning, inquiries. Thank you.
