I am a private investor who manages brokerage accounts for myself and close family members. Since before the Great Recession, I have enjoyed the diversification of leveraged ETFs and their enhanced returns. In fact, I almost exclusively invest using leveraged ETFs. I fully understand how leveraged ETFs perform and have used them with great success for more than a decade.
It troubles me greatly that the SEC is proposing regulations regarding leveraged ETFs. These ETFs are no more risky then buying individual growth stocks. I am concerned that the proposed regulations will impact my ability to freely trade these investment vehicles. If regulations are imposed, my familys portfolio return will most likely suffer. Please do not add further regulations to leveraged and inverse ETFs.
