File No. S7-18-11
Proposed Rules for Nationally Recognized Statistical Rating Organizations
I have been made aware of this legislation through my local newspaper. I am definitely in favor of passing this legislation. Just as a small example, I recently received notice that a credit card I have will be cancelled because I haven't used it for an extended period of time, but if I use it in the next 30 days it won't be cancelled. I understand from prior reading that if one cancels a credit line, the FICA score goes down. I'd like to cancel several cards, not needing them, but rules like this prevent me from doing so. I am sure that making rules and regulations of the credit industry more understandable and reasonable is a good thing for the American consumer. Thank you for the opportunity to comment. And thank you to the newspaper and writer who brought this to my attention, with the appropriate address to use to comment.
