We retired, sold our home and became totally debt free--our credit rating went down. We still own a second home, where we live, so we are not homeless. When we need to buy something big, like a new car, it will be a detriment that we are conscientious paying customers. Ridiculous Add to the fact that you have no knowledge of why or when your credit score changes unless you pay a monthly fee. The whole system reeks.
