I am a registered investment advisor and work as an arms length evaluator of investment products on behalf of my clients which include pension funds, endowments and individuals. It is my opinion that placement agents provide a great industry service by keeping audiences such as myself apprised of industry products. To eliminate this marketing channel would be short sighted and ultimately degrade the caliber of products I am able to have my clients invest in. Please do not destroy a decades old proven marketing channel in order to eliminate a few bad apples.
