As a shareholder, I am an owner of the company. Small and individual investors are at a disadvantage to give any direction to our company except via shareholder proposals. It is human nature for individuals (i.e. management) to act in their best interest versus the owners best interest. We have seen self interest as CEOs surround themselves with complimentary or incompetant Board of Directors. Do I really have to pay a bad CEO $50 million dollars to go away?
Raising thresholds for shareholder proposals will effectively eliminate the ability of smaller shareholders. As it stands now, it is difficult and expensive to get a shareholder proposal on the ballot.
Please reject the current proposals and enact ones that improve shareholders interests.
