I am a licensed insurance professional. I am writing to you because I do support the adoption of proposed Rule 151A, which would classify most indexed annuities as securities. .
In my opinion indexed annuities should be regulated. I have met other insurance professionals that sell these things and have no understanding of how they work because they do not have the securities background and training to understand the underlying structures of the payouts. I tried to teach one agent and he told me was not interested in knowing that, but he still sells them.
For these reasons, I urge the SEC to go forward with the proposed rule. Thank you for your consideration of my views on this matter.
