Any product that involves equities involves risk and is a complex product. These products are being "sold" by agents that have had no training on equities and/or investment planning. It is being pushed as an equity alternative with "no risk". I support the idea that the SEC should regulate equity indexed annuities as the already regulate, variable annuities and variable life insurance contracts, both of which involve equities and insurance, yet can only be offered by someone with a minimum of a series 6 and 63 license.
