I have lost 40% in my 401k but my IRA is in a fixed indexed annuity, I have lost nothing. I do not even have to regain any loss in the index I am in as my policy resets each year. Thank God I was in a fixed indexed annuity It would be a a shame to consider the fixed indexed annuity a security when it did what a fixed annuity is supposed to do, not lose money. The SEC has enough trouble taking care of the current mess to undertake regulating fixed indexed annuities.
