In recent months, we have seen how under the supervision and regulation of the Insurance Commissioners throughout the United States of America, how the consumer has been protected. AIG is an example of the success stories protecting the policy holder.
Yes, in the past, there have been individuals who mislead the consumer, but there certainly are enough check and balances in place today to ensure the consumer is protected and disclosures provide a true understanding of how equity indexed annuities work.
