An indexed annuity is no more than any other fixed annuity, but has the opportunity for better earnings. This product does not risk a clients money in a way that securities do. There is no downside like that of a 401K, mutual fund or even stocks. Does the SEC want to moniter and license agents that sell traditional life products? This is not under the authority of the SEC since these are not security products and the are beyond federal scrutiny.
