I am a constituent in your state. My livelihood and business as a licensed, independent insurance agent may be greatly impacted by a proposed rule 151A recently published by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The rule adds no consumer protections not already provided by state insurance regulation and would in fact undermine many state initiatives concerning sales practices. I have been providing these types of annunities for policy holders within the state of Arizona for the past 24 years. There has never been a situation where there has been a complaint by any of these policy holders because they've always been put into a better position then they were currently in. This regulation, if passed, would appear to be an attempt by the security industry to eliminate competition this eliminating a large part of my income. It would appear that this would be prejudicial action against the competition by the security industry. Monopoly?? Thank you for your careful consideration of this very important issue concerning the livelihood of many agents successfully providing quality products for the populus.
