I support reinstatement of the uptick rule, without modification. I do not understand why a rule that was put in place in the Great Depression and served the market well for more than seventy years was revoked in the first place. Markets are never "free," and the rise of unregulated hedge funds with vast sums of money at their disposal make reinstatement of the uptick rule even more critical. I speak for myself on this issue, and I speak for family and many friends. Please heed the will of the people on this one.
