We need to reinstate the uptick rule as soon as possible so that regular people, not just over leveraged hedge funds, have a fair chance of making money in the stock market.
Go back to how short selling was done before 2007. Please refrain from taking any one year as a sample for your argument on this subject. Consider how long the uptick rule had been in place during it's entire history.
If you do not reinstate the uptick rule, I will personally stop investing in equities and will advise others to follow my lead.
The confidence of future common investors is in your hand, please be wise in your decisions.
