The uptick rule that was in place for many years should be restored. Its removal contributed to market manipulation which hurt individual investors and their retirement accounts.
Naked shorting rules also should be enforced, especially against those who do own and deliver shares due, so that stocks are not driven down unfairly.
It is important that the SEC act to protect individuals, restore faith in the system, and encourage future investment.
