I feel very strongly that the uptick rule should be reinstated. My reasons are the following, as of now large traders are extremely able to make a "Bear Raid' on a stock by starting and continuing relentless short selling without any pause. With the uptick rule at least the downward pressure is slowed down thereby preventing undue panic.
