I am in favor of reinstating the uptick rule as it was prior to its repeal. the negative short selling along with nake shorting has too much power. people are more ready to accept the negative than the positive. If the SEC does not reinstate the uptick rule it is not protecting the fairness of the stock market and is showing the market that long investing (401K) is not how to invest. the people in favor are only interested in taking advantage of long investors and not in the overall wellfare of the US economy. Once Trust is gone it is very hard to reestablish it.
