One of the few level playing fields for the retail investor is the "market on open" order.

A retail investor can place an order to go long or go short "at the open" and be filled at the same opening price as the large players.

I don't care what you do with the short sale rules so long as you don't interfere with that process.

A retail investor needs to be able to go long or go short at the open and get the same opening price either way.

Any interference with this is a travesty.
