I wish to join with the chorus of comments I have read. The uptick rule must be reinstated in an unmodified form. The volatility of the market over the last year clearly would have been tempered by its presence. The small investor would have been better protected. The only people the uptick rule hurts are the very people who have brought us to this moment in history. The greedy who through the veil of hedge funds were able to manipulate the market and ultimately fleece the citizens of this county. We will pay with our taxes, our homes and our posterity. Lets bring transparency to the marketplace, return the uptick rule and bring the small investor back onto a more level playing field.
