I believe that the uptick rule should be reinstated. It is not fair to long term investors that day-traders and speculators can drive the stock prices down through naked shorting.
I have been very frustrated about this issue and I am seriously considering giving up stock trading because of it. I have heard from many investors who feel the same way. This needs to be done to restore investor confidence in the system.
