I am an investor and not a trader/speculator. Like many Americans whose retirement benefits are dependent upon growth in the stock market, I'm very disheartened by the possibility that the SEC may not reinstate the uptick and/or ban naked short-selling. There is no question that the market was manipulated by short-sellers in the fall of 2008. Several great companies were pushed to the brink and many long term investors like me are still recovering in the aftermath. I strongly urge the SEC to reinstate the uptick rule and ban naked short-selling.
