Short selling is a fancy name for embezzling. Check your legal dictionary. Stock holders who (in the old days) had bought their shares with some borrowed money could have those shares resold by the broker on orders from a "short seller."

When the SEC came into the picture they were t old embezzeling by brokers is a good thing. We do it all the time.

The borrowing of shares for short selling is no longer necessary. Naked short selling is now legal. Thus a well financed short seller can issure orders to sell and continue to sell until there are no more buyers. In other words, sell until the corp. is bankrupt.

Buying with borrowed money is not INVESTING.

Selling borrowed shares is embezzeling.

Both should be outlawed.
