As an investor I support the reinstatement of the Uptick Rule. It is unfortunate that valuable lessons of the 1930s were forgotten or denied. I believe our economy has paid and is paying the cost of forgotten lessons of the past. It is not necessary to repeat past mistakes. In my opinion the Uptick Rule helps stabalize the market by reducing market manipulation and reducing investor fear based reaction. I also think that restoring the Uptick Rule would help restore investor confidence in the market.
