Subject: File Number S7-08-09, rule-comment regarding Restoring Uptick Rule

June 7, 2009

To the SEC:

It is my opinion that without the Uptick rule short sellers have been able to gang up on individual stocks, use any news or event to trigger excessive punishment on the stock price of a company that benefits greedy speculators and day traders. Only restoring the Uptick rule can forestall the stampede of short selling that hurts companies, and long term investors and delays the revival of the US economy. Please permanently restore the Uptick rule for all short selling on all stock trades.
Thank you for receiving my comment.
I am respectfully yours,
