I heartily endorse re-establishing the uptick rule.
Personally, I'd rather that short selling be banned entirely. Or at least a requirement that a short seller completely close any outstanding short sales before shorting a stock again.
I disagree with the short sellers claim that short selling is akin to buying stocks.
