I believe it is necessary to re-implement the uptick rule as soon as possible. We have seen what blind short selling can do to a security if left unchecked, as shown by the clearly un-natural devaluation of most major financial stocks. This rule allows fair practices when it comes to short selling and will be a major part of a recovery.
