The uptick rule has served the public well for many decades. Recent destruction of value in the markets was severely increased as a result of the removal of of the uptick rule.
I strongly urge the SEC to reinstate the uptick rule exactly as it existed prior to its removal without modification.
I further urge the SEC to reinstate naked short selling rules and to enforce these rules to the fullest extent possible under the law.
