Simple re-instate the uptick rule. Companies and 401K retirement accounts remain vulnerable to day traders who start rumors just to move stocks to the downside. The public is going to flee the market permanently if we do not see that our long term security is protected from speculators. The stock market looks more like a casino these days....and we all know that ultimately the casino wins.
