The Uptick Rule was intact for well over 60 years. There was nothing that supported the removal of this rule back in 2007. I firmly believe this was a mistake and has caused short-selling downward trends on the market to be out of control. The markets are no longer the same in my eyes as they were when the rule was intact. I support reinstating this rule, that was removed for no reason and worked for decades. Short-sellers should not be allowed to manipulate the market so easily as they can today.
